Would you like to be included in the 2008 Observer & Eccentric Wedding Guide? They are looking for local newlyweds to feature, and they want to hear from you by February 15th. What to do: Email your names, hometowns, contact information, the location and date of the wedding , and a brief description of the event to wvonb@hometownlife.com. Make sure to attach a picture of you and your spouse, and make sure the photographer gives their permission. Feel free to contact me if you would like some help submitting your data! I hope you see some familiar faces on those pages!

Tis the Season...Bridal Shows!!!

Every January, and then again in the fall, I get clients that ask me about bridal shows. Whether or not they are worth it, and can you really get the deals that they claim? The answers is yes, if you go about it the right way.
The usefulness of a bridal show really depends on where you are at with your planning, and what size/style show you go to. If you are looking for an opportunity to meet with potential vendors, go over their packages, and even possibly sign contract, look for the smaller shows. You might have to look a bit closer to find them, and your hall is generally a good place to start. It is common for banquet facilities to schedule these every so often to highlight their services as well as their preferred vendors. You won't be overwhelmed by hundreds of people, or booth after booth at these shows, but you will probably leave feeling like you have accomplished quite a bit.
The other option would be to go to one of those "big box" style shows that you'll see at venues such as The Palace and Rock Financial Showplace (January 19-20th). These shows offer a completely different experience. These shows pull you in with promises of discounts, contests, and many give-aways, and they do not disappoint! Be prepared for the crowds though, and bring your pre-addressed labels (the one's you get every other week from your local charity will be perfect)! It is an experience that every bride and her maid of honor should have!

Great things for 2008!

2007 was a big year at Purple Clover Events. We started off the year by moving from Ann Arbor to Royal Oak, and still continue to serve brides in the entire Metro Detroit area. We joined the Association of Bridal Consultants (www.bridalassn.com), and can now offer more services to our clients, including discounts on travel arrangements with Sandals resorts. We were also honored by being chosen to be in the top 4 wedding planners in Channel 4's Vote 4 The Best contest. For more details go to www.clickondetroit.com.
Another service that we added to our list this year was becoming Jean M wedding invitation and accessory dealers. Check out their website at www.myjeanm.com and create our own personalized invites...and then contact us for your discounts!!
To finish off the year, and start 2008 right, we now have a new look, and a new website! We're excited about the new year, and hope to share it with you!
